LOWNDES & ROARY STAR AT AUSSIE GP
Roary media release, 18 April 2010
V8 Supercar legend Craig Lowndes had a podium finish in the V8 category
at the Australian Grand Prix recently, but it was his pole position at
Roary the Racing Car’s VIP Pit Zone Party at Albert Park that had
everyone cheering. Over 400 Melbourne VIPs and their kids partied with
Lowndesy at the Grand Prix on Saturday March 27 to celebrate the launch
of his new Roary DVD ‘Meet Conrod the V8’ and the unveiling
of the new Holden SS V8 Conrod car.
Some of the VIPs that enjoyed
the high octane mayhem included Jimeoin, James Tomkins, Nadine Gardner,
Nicole Livingstone, Peter Rowsthorn, Peter Stubbs, Pia Miller, Marty Fields,
Stefan Dennis and more. Brian McFadden even wanted his photo with Big
Chris and the Roary girls!
Lowndes was the special guest
at the Roary Party, as part of his role as the new animated character
Conrod, a superfast Aussie V8 which launched on ABC for Kids (ABC1, ABC2)
in January 2010. The much awaited “Meet Conrod the V8” DVD
launched this month and each party guest will receive a copy of the DVD.
As the official children’s
ambassador for the Grand Prix in Melbourne, Roary was a huge hit for the
little racing fans. Over 10,000 excited Roary fans zoomed over to the
Roary Pit Zone across the four days. The kids enjoyed the interactive
games, Roary car races, competitions, face painting, treasure hunts, photo
zone with Roary and Big Chris, and many more thrill-seeking activities.
Narrated by racing legend
Sir Stirling Moss, Roary is one of the most popular pre-school properties
in Australia. Roary screens on ABC1 and ABC2 as well as Nick Jr.
